PowerSchool Learning (formerly Haiku Learning) is the digital learning platform that the WSD implemented during the 2015-16 school year. What does this mean? This means that all WSD teachers now have access to an easy to use website creator. PowerSchool Learning’s drag and drop interface makes it simple to create and update a teacher website and quickly add interactive content, too. If a teacher already has a website, no problem; he or she can easily import the site into PowerSchool Learning.
G Suite (formerly Google Apps for Education) is a set of digital tools that students and teachers can access anywhere, anytime with an internet connection. Included in these tools are Gmail, Drive, and Calendar. Gmail for schools is free of advertisements and provides the teacher and student another avenue of communication. Drive is a repository for student work plus it includes a word processor (Docs), a presentation app (Slides), and a spreadsheet app (Sheets). Calendar is the place to keep track of all important school events and assignments. All of these features are free and allows the school community to be eco-friendly because they are paperless.
