Back to School Night

We would like to welcome you to our annual Back to School Night on Thursday, September 19th. The evening will start at 5:30 pm with a principal introduction and PTA meeting, followed by classroom visits from 6:00-7:00 pm. There will be two sessions so that if you have more than one child, you can get to both classes. The first session will be from 6:00-6:30 pm, and there will be a second session from 6:30-7:00 pm. Our teachers are excited to share the curriculum, standards, and classroom policies with you. This is a time when you can meet your child's teacher and learn about all of the exciting things happening in your child's classroom this year. Dual Parent Commitment Night on August 21st!

Please join us for our Dual Parent Commitment Night on Wednesday, August 21st. This is a mandatory meeting for all families with children enrolled in the Spanish Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Preschool (if new to the program), and TK - Kinder Program. Willmore Elementary School is proud to welcome this year's Spanish Dual Language Immersion class and their families as innovators to the Westminster School District. Your commitment to the program will provide your child with numerous competitive advantages. We are pleased to embark on this pathway to biliteracy with you.

Preschool (if new to the preschool program) @ 5:00-6:00 pm in the Willmore Multipurpose Room (MPR).

TK/Kinder @ 6:30-7:30 pm in the WIllmore MPR (please click on blue title of the article above to see flyer).

First Day of School is Thursday, August 29, 2019!

We hope you are having an enjoyable and relaxing summer vacation. School starts on Thursday, August 29th. Class lists will be posted on Wednesday, August 28th at 4:00 pm outside of the front office. The office will open on Tuesday, August 20th. There will be support in the office for data confirmation on August 27th and August 28th from 8:30-11:30 am so please come to the office if you would like assistance. We are looking forward to another amazing 2019-20 school year at Willmore Elementary School.

Cinco de mayo Celebration on Friday, May 3rd at 1:00 pm!

Please join us for our Cinco de mayo celebration on May 3rd at 1:00 pm. Our dedicated Willmore community will come together to celebrate Cinco de mayo, which will include performances by classes, groups of students and our very own Willmore parents. The staff appreciates a delicious lunch donated by our wonderful, supportive parents and PTA to celebrate together. At Willmore, we equip students with critical thinking skills across all curriculum areas incorporating languages, coding and digital literacies. We empower all students as they explore their passions to be future-ready with options for college, career, and global leadership. Willmore Thunderbirds are engaged, equipped, and empowered to pursue their passions and lead in a globally diverse community! We are proud to give students the opportunity to learn Spanish, English, and coding in our successful Dual Language Immersion academies in the Westminster School District.

Willmore Recognized as a Common Sense Education School

Willmore Elementary earns the distinction of being certified by Common Sense Education through the use of its digital citizenship program. All students from Transitional Kindergarten through fifth grade completed a comprehensive curriculum to prepare them to be responsible consumers and creators of digital media. Code to the Future Epic Build Showcase

At Willmore, students show 21st century skills through innovation and creativity. Students had the opportunity to showcase their coding projects in Kindergarten through fifth grade on Friday, February 1st. Parents were impressed with what are students are capable of at Willmore!

LCAP Community Meetings

You’re invited to be part of the future of Westminster School District by joining us as we work together to develop the District plan. Please click on the link above to see the flyer with detailed information. As part of the California school funding model, each district will annually develop a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). Your input to the plan is very important. Westminster School District is hosting a community meeting to share information and to get input for the District plan. You are invited to attend any of the meetings; interpreters will be available.
