Please see the following message from Superintendent, Dr. Cyndi Paik.
Dear WSD parents and guardians,
I hope this message finds you and your family safe, healthy and happy!
We have been planning for our end of the year activities to ensure that we have a smooth transition into summer break. Due to COVID-19, end of the year events along with our promotions and graduations will look different this year. Please check the district website for all the information. We have come up with creative ways to celebrate students and make their final visit to their school campus safe and productive. Principals will be sharing details with you in the coming weeks and specific dates and times will be posted on each school website as well as the district’s website.
Also, please look for an important reopening schools survey that will be sent you this coming week as we plan for school opening in the fall. We value your feedback and the information we gather will be used to help us make an informed decision.
I am extremely grateful to all of the WSD families and wish to thank you for your understanding and flexibility during this unique time. Please continue to check our district’s website for updates.

At this time, President Trump stated social distancing guidelines will be extended to April 30th; the Orange County Health Care Agency continues to advise that only essential activities are to continue; and OC Parks has implemented closures by closing parking lots at all county beaches, regional parks and wilderness parks. Therefore, at Westminster School District, we will continue to operate under a skeletal crew with only essential services that are necessary until further notice.
Additionally, Governor Newsom’s Stay Home Executive Order is still in effect where he ordered all individuals to stay home except to get food, get necessary health care or go to an essential job. Therefore, our school and district closure will now get extended until May 1, 2020. Please note that as this situation continues to change, we will make necessary adjustments as we follow federal, state and local agency guidance.
Last night, Governor Newsom announced that all individuals should stay home except for essential needs. This began at midnight. Therefore, we are postponing the pick-up of student Chromebooks and materials today, Friday March 20th until further notice. The office will be closed. However, school meals will continue at the five locations from 11 to 12:30 daily.
Thank you for your understanding and support during this rapidly changing COVID-19 situation. Your health and safety, and that of our students, continues to be my top priority during this time.
At this time, the Orange County Health Care Agency has advised the community that in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19, only essential activities are to continue. Therefore, we will continue to operate under a skeletal crew, assuring that we provide essential services to students and school community.
On March 17, 2020, Governor Newsom stated that he anticipates the possibility of schools remaining closed beyond Spring Break. Therefore, we will extend our school and district closure until April 17, 2020. Please note that this situation continues to change, so continue to check the district website and your emails for updates. Stay healthy and safe! Thank you for being such a wonderful community!
