During this third trimester, grading will look different than in the past trimester as we adhere to the California Department of Education’s guidelines: Implement grading policy with the lens of equity and access with the primary goal of first, doing no harm to students during this difficult time. Information about grading is on this link: ENGLISH April 17 Parent Letter FINAL.pdf . Third trimester grades will be given to students in June and elementary students will receive a grade of: Participation or No Mark-Unable to measure progress due to unique circumstances of COVID-19.
Student breakfast and lunch package “grab and go” will continue to be available at the seven schools (Anderson Elementary, DeMille Elementary, Hayden Elementary, Johnson Middle School, Stacey/Clegg School, Warner Middle School, Willmore Elementary) starting April 20, 2020.
End of the year process, procedures, and special activities (ie. returning Chromebooks, next year class assignments, picking up items left in the classrooms, end of year special activities, etc.) will be provided to you in the upcoming weeks as we are considering various options to ensure the safety and health of our students following the current Health Agency guidelines.
Our online Distance Learning Platform has been updated on the district’s main website and will continue to provide students, teachers, and parents access to various resources. This includes guidance on how student learning will continue for the rest of the school year. Please continue to check the district website for updates as information will be posted regularly at https://wsdk8.us. Feel free to reach out to me or your child's teacher if you have any questions or need assistance. We hope you are safe and healthy and please continue to take care of yourselves and others. Thank you for your continued support during this time. We miss you!
