Our first annual Career Day was planned in November to help students think at an early age about college and careers in the future. Thank you to our amazing presenters who volunteered their time and energy to inspire our students. Career exploration motivated students to be able to grow up to do what sparks their interests and passions. Willmore invited family and community members to share information about their careers including how they chose their career, what it takes to get there, and their responsibilities. Presenters stressed the importance of literacy and the need for students to continue working hard. Presenters ranged from detectives to firefighters to engineers to musicians to lawyers and more. Students used thinking maps and notetaking skills to record information and ask questions. They will present thank you notes to our presenters for taking the time to inspire them! Parents and teachers are already talking and planning our Career Day event for next year.
